|Booker, are you afraid of god?|
No...I'm afraid of you.
Grimm (Scholarship short story)When the infection hit, it wasn’t just the people who had started to die off, but it was the world as well. Once rolling green fields were reduced to grey, dusty landscapes and the trees that accompanied them withered away to nothing. Oceans dried up, the animal life that needed such things to survive died, their bones sinking into the dust.Grimm (Scholarship short story) by silverthehedgehog78
For the people, it was much, much worse. The infection hit slowly; a few people at a time in each state. The symptoms were all the same though. Blackened veins, bloodshot eyes, and the intense buildup of rage that caused more deaths then the infection did. But really, those were people whom hadn’t rotted away by the time the anger hit. Those less fortunate (or, depending on who you ask, fortunate), laid in the hospital bed until their bodies eat themselves away from the inside.
It spread via the dust let off of the decaying persons. Breathed in, through the pores, really no one knew, and no one wished to know. Except for the scientist s

Well, sort of.
The elf sat up in the bed, pure white locks of hair disheveled and sticking to dried blood that adorned her cheek from the night before. She angrily mumbled who in their right damned mind would call on a shadowrunner at the ungodly hour of two in the morning, and as she laid back down, eyes shut and trying to return back to the cradle of sleep, she screamed in worry as the loud beeping of an alarm caused her to jump fifty feet.
Tezzera sat up, glaring at the clock and hit something on the decker board on the foot of her bed, the clock making a noise like an enraged cat and simmering to a quiet halt. She ‘wooed’ tiredly, finally getting to her feet. Bare feet padded against the cheap wood, straight to the bathroom to clean the crusted blood off the side of her face.
She hated up close and personal kills, but she sometimes needed to do them. The elf scanned her own face, her blu
The hills of Hollywood on FIRE Chapter 5For the first time, it wasn’t the light that woke Hunter up at…four A.M. Four A.M? She wavered, a hand going to the alarm clock (solar powered. It was a smart idea.) that rang loudly in her ear. Did she even set that herself? Her book was open on the table, pen keeping the page from fluttering away against the wind. A hand tapped her once. Than twice…The hills of Hollywood on FIRE Chapter 5 by silverthehedgehog78
Then did the unholy thing of throwing the blanket off of her, causing the woman to scramble and fall off. Her thump caused the clock of clatter and start it’s descendent from the table, only to be stopped in mid-air. She held a hand up, the clock floating back to its spot on the table. “Who in the ever loving hell would-“
“This person is the one giving you a place to stay and gave you a place in the echelon.” The man’s voice was ragged, tired, deep. She glanced up, Jared’s eyes meeting hers from the end of the bed. His arms were crossed, in a black v-neck and jeans with the sam
The hills of Hollywood on FIRE Chapter 4Her pen tapped against her chin, looking down at the small letters written on the page. Her mother had always told her if there was something on her mind to write it down, and her book was filled with little slips of paper, notes on other people, places and things, lyrics she thought of and poems. The latter two not as good as she thought. The hills of Hollywood on FIRE Chapter 4 by silverthehedgehog78
Hunter glanced down at the lyrics on her page, reading them over in her mind;
I was born in the womb of a poisonous man
Beaten and broken and chased from the land…
She made an annoyed sound, Hunter setting the book back against her side and flipping the lighter off next to her bed. Her door creaked open, her feet pressing against the wood as she walked down the hallway. Maybe talking to someone would get her tired for once since she got to the base. After asking a soldier on watch which direction to head, she started off towards Jared’s room. She would take him up on that offer he made earlier.
Hunter knocked on the door a l

What He Really MeansSo I've noticed that I tend to put an awful lot of subtext in my fic dialogue for Corso Riggs. The thing is, I kind of think I've picked it up from the game itself. Sure, sometimes he comes right out and bares his soul to the Captain. But a lot of the time it seems like he hides what he means in saying something less overt. So here's my "Corso Riggs Translation" file. What He Really Means by clicketykeys

I trust you completely because you are smart and brave and determined.
I'll say one thing, traveling with you is never dull... and You've got an interesting idea of fun.
Even in the toughest situations, being with you makes me smile.
You ever get the feeling we're in over our heads? and I didn't think it was possible for this job to get more complicated.
How is it that you are so fearless? It always seems like you're ready for anything. Your courage amazes and inspires me.
You got guts, Captain. I hope you don't mind if I come along to take a few hit
